LABOUR OF LOVE

" I do not know how it is with others when speaking on an important
question," said Henry Clay; " but on such occasions I seem to be unconscious of
the external world. Wholly engrossed by the subject before me, I lose all sense of
personal identity, of time, or of surrounding objects."
" A bank never becomes very successful," says a noted financier, " until it gets a
president who takes it to bed with him." Oris swett Mandel

It’s been said that if you find work that you love then you’ll never have to work again for the rest
of your life. Love for profession gives a man the intensity to bring fort the genius and guru within him, but the challenge of this hour is that a lot of people are doing work that they loath just to get a salary and get-by. There is a labor- of- love with your name written boldly on it when you find it . Treasure it like a man who has found gold and nurture it like mother nurtures her child.
When you pursue your labor- of- love doors and wallets will open for you and your life will be a source of inspiration to other people who are still standing on the sidelines of life waiting for people like you to trigger them into their own brilliance and magnificence.

SERVE

Jesus Christ said, "HE THAT WANTS TO THE GREATEST AMONG YOU, LET HIM BE THE SERVANT" The meaning of the word, 'GREATEST' in the Hebrew means: large or big. The word 'SERVANT' in the Hebrew means to meet the needs of another person.
By extension then, if you want to leave an imprint on the sands of time look for a way to serve the world with your gifts, talents, and abilities.
Because when you where born you cried, serve the world so when you die the world will smile knowing that you touched it significantly.

WHAT IS YOUR SUCCESS TRIGGER

Since the arrival of my son my life has changed for the better. In life we all need external events that will trigger or drive us to unearth our latent or hidden capacities. The responsibility of fatherhood is making me work harder and smarter because i want to be an inspirational example of 'turning dreams into reality' for my children.

What is your success trigger? is it your: mum, wife, kids, etc

NNPC MEDICAL LAGOS TRAINING

I had a great time training the staff of NNPC medical Lagos on customer service, i started by telling them that, they are the tools for outstanding service that if they love, value, and cherish themselves they'll find it easier to manifest great service to their patients.

The 21st century customer wants:

1. Empathy

2. Quick response

3. Suprise

4. Assurance

5. proactivity.

And all of that, stems out of passion for customers and a desire to enhance people.

WORKOUT THE DREAM

Dreams are in the mental state; a state where only the dreamer can see and experience the dream. However, to transfer the dream from the mental to the physical requires work. In his fascinating book THE OUTLIERS, author and speaker, Malcolm Gladwell argued that for any person, be you an athlete, swimmer, banker, writer, speaker, etc. to achieve world class success, the person must spend 10,000 hours honing their skills and mastering their craft.
Victoria Pendleton won gold in the Women’s Sprint Cycling event at the 2008 Beijing Olympics after training for four hours a day, six days a week. Rebecca Adlington, the 19-year-old swimmer who won two gold medals at the same tournament had put in an estimated 8,840 hours of training since the age of 12.
Working out your dream involves a lot of dedication and sacrifices. A lot of people want a successful outcome but they seldom want to pay the price required for success. If the price wasn’t there, then everybody would be living the life of their dreams. But if your dream is dear to you, if your dream has sunk deep into your soul, you will pay whatever price as long as it is ethical to make it materialize.

PASSION

One major characteristic of stars (musicians, footballers, athletes, swimmers) is that they have a strong passion and love for what they do. That passion drives them to demand excellence and high standard from themselves. Passion speaks of strong love and obsession for a thing. It is a HEART THING, NOT A HEAD THING. Are you passionate about your company, are you excited about your work. Show me a star and I’ll show you a passionate person. If you are not passionate about your work, life is too short why don’t you look for something else that fits well with your passion? Passion cannot be taught. In the USA, most heart attacks take place on Monday morning, this is because a lot of people are not doing what they love to do.
You should have passion for the mission and vision of your company, so that you don’t see your work as work, rather you see it as a CAUSE, worthy of your time, talent and energy.

THE LAW OF VALUE

THE LAW OF VALUE:
Henry Ford told us years ago that, “Wealth when sought after directly will never be achieved…it only comes as a by-product of providing useful service.”
the law of value is based on the premise that, for you to get what you want, you’ve got to give people what they want. This is called the exchange of value for value.
Wealth or material blessing is a reflection of how much value we have created in other people’s lives. The reward for value is money. Successful people think about, how to improve the lives of other people.
To create wealth therefore, you've got to think about other peoples: interest, needs, hurts, wants, etc and how to creatively solve them for a fee.

TIPS AND PICS FROM MY BRANDING SEMINAR

· KNOW YOUR COMPETITIVE ADVANTAGE
The first step to building a brand is to look within yourself: decode, discover or unearth your area of strength otherwise known as your competitive advantage. It basically means the thing(s) that you can do so very well. Or put differently it is discover what distinguishes you from other people doing the same thing with you.

For example in business, your competitive advantage could be that you’re after sales service is awesome. That difference can be your upper hand in the game, and also be the reason you give to customers for patronage. Or in an organization your competitive advantage could be your negotiation ability.
Your competitive advantage is your point of distinction and difference. A lot of times it is our difference from others that the world rewards.
I have a simple equation for that, CLEAR COMPETITIVE ADVANTAGE + VALUE TO CUSTOMERS = SUCCESSFUL BRANDING.

HOW TO DECODE YOUR COMPETITIVE ADVANTAGE
1. What words do people use to describe you or your business after an encounter? Do people say things like: great service, quick delivery, warm reception, great communication, clean environment and etc. when you hear a particular word or family of words consistently that is an indication of your competitive advantage.
2. What upsets you about your company or industry in others words what’s your burden. One man set up a successful chain of hotels in America with a huge bias for customer service because he was upset with the quality of service he was getting.
3. Your training, skill, and passion can also help you decode your competitive advantage.
4. Your competitive advantage is the difference you intend to make in your organization and industry based on your uniqueness.
· FUNDAMENTAL DEFINITION
This is the central business why you’re working beyond making a profit. It is the core or spiritual dimension of your brand. It speaks of your vision, values, mission, and goals.
It is the fuel that drives your brand to perform in exceptional ways. Your fundamental definition is what you base all your decisions and actions on. Actions that will enhance any vision you embark upon, but will disrupt any action that is inimical to your vision. For example the fundamental definition of Microsoft is to put a computer on every desk in the world. This overriding passion has enabled them to come up with great products and services.
A vision is a mental picture of a preferred future. Vision speaks of a tomorrow that is better and beyond your current reality. All successful brands start with a vision about how they want their future outcome to be.
Living next to vision is values. Values basically means the attitudinal patterns that the brand will need to exhibit consistently if they are going to actualize their vision. The following are values that you can select from and imbibe into building brand you; uplift, unique, sports, constantly improving, detail oriented, congruent, discerning, net worker, exhilaration, love, ingenuity, family, direct, fun, transformational, passionate, professionalism, quick service, result-oriented, dependability, stylish, knowledgeable, current, excellent, capable, health conscious, informing, humorous, honest, holy, peaceful, visionary, energized, glamorous, integrity, inspiring, educating, elegant, entertaining, expert, and more.
The following are the core values of a company I know of.
Openness
We are always genuine and prepared for challenges
Care
We take time to understand and have an empathic approach
Integrity
Our relationships are based on trust
Enthusiasm
We are passionate about our business and always imbue a sense of fun
Quality
We aspire to be the best. We achieve high standards and create new ones
Learning
We share knowledge freely and actively encourage feedback
Performance
We are self-motivated and achievement focused
Imagine everyone living and breathing these values in an organization? That, my friend, will be a winning organization.

KNOW YOUR STRENGHT

KNOW YOUR STRENGTH

We live in a world of hyper-competition and ever increasing information. There are lots of companies, products, services and individuals competing for our attention, time and money. We are bombarded with information on a regular basis, but in the midst of the noise and turbulence, you will agree with me, if you take the pains to observe that some individuals, organizations, products and services stand out in the crowd. If you see a herd of sheep and one of them is red, that red sheep will definitely catch your attention because of its outstanding color.

To succeed in the 21st century, whether you are an organization or individual you must identify what makes you different from the rest and perfect it. It is your distinctiveness and the ability to connect with people and solve their problems that make you stand out from the crowd. Your unique strength is what is considered as your sword or weapon of war. You will be defeated if you do not know your weapon of war.

We live in a world that constantly suggests to us that focusing on a lot of things is the key to the vault of success. But that is a lie. For example some companies might start with the fast food business and when there is a little decline in sales instead of re-strategizing to boost sales they become apprehensive and start selling every other thing that they think will help them grow and consequently become a jack of contracting, recharge card sales, sale of clothes, etc., and are not known for a specific thing and are therefore a master of none. There is one thing that you can do better than a lot of people. That is what separates you; that is your core and you need time and patience to be a master at it.

As talented as Jay Jay Okocha is, he is not a good goal keeper. This is because goal keeping is not his area of strength. But put him in the place of his strength and all his capacity will become evident and in the process, the team benefits.

customer service for hospitals

i had great time speaking to the stAFF OF shawsand hospital.

TAKE RESPONSIBILITY

We live in a world that teaches people directly and indirectly how to blame people and circumstances when their lives are not moving in the direction they envisaged. That way of thinking keeps people in one position and they watch life pass them by because they have an excuse why they won’t make a move.
You must realize that problems and challenges are a part of life. You can’t take them away, but you can take responsibility by looking for the opportunities within them.
“I’ve got a problem”
The young man had just come up to Dr. Norman Vincent pearl on 5th avenue in new York city he gripped Dr. pearl and said, “ please help me I can’t handle my problems. They are too much.”
Dr. Pearl said, “I’ve got to give a talk if you’ll let go of my lapel, I’ll show you a place where there are people with no problems.”
The desperate man said, “if you could do that I’ll give anything to go there.”
He took him to the forest lawn cemetery in new York city and dr. pearl said, “look, there are 150,000 people there. And I happen to know that none of them have problems.”
